The Orange beat Colgate 18-10 to start the week, improving to 2-0 for the season and maintaining their No. 9 ranking on the Inside Lacrosse poll. Colgate attempted a unique defensive strategy to stymie Orange star Joey Spallina, but he was able to solve it and still walked away with nine points and five assists overt the No. 20-ranked Raiders.
Now the Orange host the Jaspers, who are only just starting their season this week. The Jaspers compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and the two teams have never previously met. Last season, the Jaspers went 10-5 overall at 7-2 in the conference, and fell 11-8 to Siena in the MAAC Championship.
