When comparing them to other NFL head coaches who have won Super Bowls, neither will set the record for youngest or oldest coach to win, but both are up there.
Reid won the Super Bowl last season at the age of 64, making him the fourth-oldest coach to win a Super Bowl. Only New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin (65 years old in 2012), New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick (66 years old in 2019) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians (68 years old in 2021) were older than Reid when they won their Super Bowls.
Now 65 years old, if Reid were to win again this year, he would tie Tom Coughlin for third-oldest coach to win the Super Bowl.
Kyle Shanahan has a chance to become one of the youngest head coaches to win a Super Bowl. The youngest head coaches to win the Super Bowl are Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay in 2022 and Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin in 2009. Both were 36 years old.
Others who were younger than Shanahan are Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden (39 years old in 2003), Washington Commanders coach Joe Gibbs (42 years old in 1983), Tom Flores (43 years old in 1981) and Pittsburgh Steelers coach Chuck Noll (43 in 1975).
